Sunday crab: crab with lute – 3D printed miniature

The 3D print of the miniature

To 3D print the miniature of the crab musician I used these settings:

layer height 0.1mm
printing speed 30mm/s
infill 20%
supports yes
brim yes
filament color grey

Brim and low speed are a must, to assure a good 3D print of the legs, the most difficult part to do for the 3D printed.

I removed the supports with the pliers and then I finished it with the cutter, removing the stringing.

Painting

To paint the 3D printed miniature of the crab with the lute I used the base pattern of the crab (here the article). I made a brown base for the lute, and white strings. Then I added some more detail with a lighter brown.
