3D printed rack miniature of an outpost tower – Small temple setting

As I said in the last post, today we are seeing the weapon rack, that the soldier use in the tower outpost. I didn’t share any photos until now to don’t spoil anything what we are going to see today.

The 3D model

The rack is mainly made of wood, so I made it with some wooden boards. These board are made from cubes, while I made the grains in sculpt mode.
To make the iron parts I used some beveled cubes and the spheres as nails.
I used cylinders for the hooks of the weapons.

I used the spear model as a reference to avoid any size error.

I also made a smaller version, for the smaller weapons. I just shrink the vertical boards and lower the iron parts.

Both the racks are 5cm large and can carry up to 4 weapons.

The 3D print

For the 3D printing I choose the printing speed, since there are not important details, so I used layer 0.2mm high.

I didn’t use the supports and you can see that the lower part of the hooks is a bit sagging, but is a smaller flaw.

The painting

To paint this miniature I used the brown paint for the wood and the black paint for the iron.

These miniature alone are nothing special, so I put on the weapons and the result is awesome.

I also put the girl soldier miniature as a size reference.
